Bahrain GP Qualifying Update: Penalty for Sutil

Since qualification for tomorrows Bahrain Grand Prix finished, Force India driver, Adrian Sutil has been handed a five-place grid penalty and will now start from 22nd place, instead of his qualifying position of 18th.

During Q1, Sutil edged Grosjean across the track and eventually caused the Frenchman to leave the track. Following the end of the qualifying this incident was investigated by the FIA who deemed that Sutil “forced car eight [Grosjean] off the track between turns 13 and 14 in an unsafe manner”.

This decision came with a five-place grid penalty as well as 2 penalty points on his F1 superlicence.
