Atop the timesheets once again sat Daniel Ricciardo at the Hungaroring. Putting his upgraded Red Bull ahead of the field on the supersoft tyres, above Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas as Lewis Hamilton missed his chance at a flying lap thanks to yellow flags for Felipe Massa and a red flag when Pascal Wehlrein suffered a heavy head on crash at Turn 11.

Vettel continues to set the pace in FP2 at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The floodlights flickered on, Ferrari finished fettling and Formula One refuelled for the final 90-minutes of Friday running. Yet when those 90-minutes came to an end, Ferrari continued to head the field as supersoft tyres could not demote Vettel. A late issue, however, took the shine off Ferrari’s day.
With limited running on any of the Pirelli wet compounds, the start of the race emerged as a step into the unknown. But while Sainz took the risk of slicks, Verstappen stuck to the inters and began his charge. Hamilton meanwhile edged away smoothly to begin the race that took him to his first race of the year and level things up with Vettel in the drivers’ standings.
