After Lewis Hamilton topped the morning session from of Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen fought back come second practice to put the Italian constructor on top – leaving morning pace-setter Hamilton two-tenths shy of Raikkonen’s pace. Meanwhile, spins befell Vettel, Grosjean, Bottas and Vandoorne as the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve continued to show a lack of grip.

The Monaco Grand Prix weekend had eased into action with Lewis Hamilton posting what was the then fastest ever lap around the streets of Monte Carlo. But once the afternoon was underway, times continued to tumble with Sebastian Vettel lowering Daniil Kvyat’s benchmark. While the barriers began to claim their first victims in Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll – two drivers who were yet to ever lap the circuit.
Max Verstappen tops final free practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The last session under the sun saw Max Verstappen top the timesheet as Formula one prepares for qualifying. Vettel had been in search of a hat-trick and had topped the sheet, but Verstappen’s late charge flipped the order. While Grosjean’s day had a torrid start with understeer, oversteer and a snapped front-wing.

The floodlights flickered on, Ferrari finished fettling and Formula One refuelled for the final 90-minutes of Friday running. Yet when those 90-minutes came to an end, Ferrari continued to head the field as supersoft tyres could not demote Vettel. A late issue, however, took the shine off Ferrari’s day.
The wait is nearly over and the bags for Australia are packed, F1 2017 is inbound.

While sunlight still dominated the Abu Dhabi sky, the 22-strong Formula One field hit the track for the final practice session of the year. The final 60-minutes of running before the floodlights illuminate the Yas Marina circuit for qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. A qualifying session Sebastian Vettel goes into as the fastest man around the 5-kilometre track.
